We are ministers of reconciliation. Christ took on our sin and gave us His righteousness so we would be His ambassadors. Representing the King is not just an activity, it is our identity (1 Corinthians 5:17-21). The enemy doesn’t want us living out that identity though. Our own flesh battles against boldness (Galatians 5:17).
God is the only one we need to fear (Luke 12:4-5), and He is for us: “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32).
Peter, John, Paul and others in the early Church knew the cost of boldness, yet they persevered through persecution for in Christ; they had a treasure and a new identity.
Pray for boldness to:
- Proclaim the Gospel
- Do right in the face of adversity
- Be reproduced among disciples
- Follow the lead of the Holy Spirit
